Job Description

As a Medical Cleaning Specialist, you will be part of a dedicated team responsible for ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and safety in healthcare facilities. You will work closely with healthcare professionals, following stringent infection control protocols to create a safe, sterile environment for patients and staff. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about maintaining hygiene and cleanliness in a healthcare setting while contributing to patient safety and well-being.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be involved in every step of the cleaning process, from initial cleaning to final disinfection, ensuring healthcare spaces are sanitized to meet safety and health standards.
  • Work with medical staff to understand specific cleaning needs and address them promptly to minimize infection risks.
  • Ensure all cleaning tasks are carried out to the highest standards, following protocols and meeting healthcare regulations.
  • Accurately estimate the time and effort required for cleaning various healthcare areas during scheduling sessions.
  • Create, update, and maintain cleaning logs, checklists, and reports to document cleaning tasks and disinfection protocols.
  • Follow and implement infection control procedures to minimize cross-contamination and properly handle medical waste.
  • Regularly assess cleanliness levels and adjust cleaning schedules as needed to maintain hygiene standards.
  • Carry out specialized cleaning for high-risk areas like operating rooms, laboratories, and patient rooms.
  • Ensure all cleaning activities comply with established health and safety protocols, protecting staff and patients.
  • Communicate issues or concerns to supervisors and collaborate with healthcare teams to improve cleaning procedures.

Skill & Experience

  • You have at least 2 years of experience in cleaning or janitorial services, preferably in a healthcare or medical environment.
  • You are familiar with infection control protocols and health and safety regulations, ensuring that cleaning tasks meet the required healthcare standards.
  • You have experience using hospital-grade disinfectants and cleaning equipment.
  • You are comfortable working in high-risk environments, including operating rooms, patient rooms, and medical laboratories.
  • You have worked in an environment with strict sanitation and cleanliness requirements,  understanding the importance of following protocols for patient safety.
